Meet The Team

Executive Director

Karen served as a board member before becoming executive director in 2018. After being a victim of domestic violence herself, Karen feels truly called by God to lead this organization. Karen loves watching her two daughters grow and teaching them the importance of giving back. Her favorite part of working at The Shelter is letting families know they are not alone.

Program Manager

Erica began with The Shelter in January 2022. In her spare time you can find her with her husband and their children. Erica is thankful for God opening the doors to place her to work at The Shelter. She enjoys being a part of someone's story in a positive way and loves to bring light wherever she is.

Lead Advocate

Brittany joined the Shelter team in June 2023. Outside of her role, she treasures the time spent with her children and husband, who serves as a minister. What truly fuels her passion as an advocate is the opportunity to empower women and give them the tools needed for their new journey in life.

Advocate

Tersa began volunteering at Hope Haven Pregnancy Center in May 2023, where she developed a strong passion for supporting individuals in need. After partnering with The Shelter, Inc., she officially joined the team as an advocate in February 2025. As a bilingual advocate, Tersa provides essential support to Spanish-speaking clients, helping to ensure everyone feels seen and understood. Her favorite part of her role is witnessing her clients grow in confidence and take pride in the progress they make through our program.

Advocate

Maryn originally was an intern during college wanting to learn how non-profits operate. Upon graduation she got the opportunity to join the Shelter team in February 2023. Maryn’s favorite thing about being an advocate is case management. She loves watching her clients smile and independence grow each week that she meets with them one on one.
